12 Days of Swimming Christmas Carol

True to form, I was singing to myself this past week while swimming.  I had myself giggling merrily and sat down last night to turn this right out; a swimming Christmas Carol adaptation.  Feel free to sing along!  True to any Christmas Carol, there is some history, good will, and a whole lotta hope!

Be sure to sing the whole thing through… it won’t always be what you expect!

On the first day of Christmas, I got for swimming…

An English Channel Crossing Booking!

On the second day of Christmas, I got for swimming…

Two Awesome Crew!

And an English Channel Crossing Booking!

 

On the third day of Christmas, I got for swimming…

Three swimming lessons,

Two million corrections!

And a whole lot of mindless drilling!

 

On the fourth day of Christmas, I got for swimming…

Four different strokes,

Three days of Masters,

Two seconds faster,

And a whole lot more mindless drilling!

 

On the fifth day of Christmas, I got for swimming…

FIVE SWIMMING SUITS!

Four pairs of goggles,

Three GIANT swim caps,

Two ear plugs,

And a lap counter you wear like a ring!

 

On the sixth day of Christmas, I got for swimming…

Six water bottles,

Five Carb/Protein Powder Mix Flavors!

Four make me sick,

Three are just gross,

Two are okay,

And a nutrition plan is happening!

 

On the seventh day of Christmas, I got at Kingdom Swim…

7-4-3-2-7

6-2-5-0-9

Five Swimming Friends!

Four fundraisers,

Three hours of driving,

Two kayakers,

And a trip to Cork Distance Week!

 

On the eighth day of Christmas, I got for swimming…

Eight hour swim

Seven hour swim

Six hour swim

FIVE HOURS OF SWIMMING!!!!

Four hour swim

Three hour swim

Two hour swim

And my very own surprise wedding!

 

On the ninth day of Christmas, I got at Distance Week…

Nine days of swims

Eight different spots

Seven two-a-days

Six hour qualifier

FIVE MILLION JELLIES!!!!

Four swimming buddies,

Three British Friends!

Two hundred cookies,

And a fun-filled swim of torturing!

 

On the tenth day of Christmas, I got for swimming…

Ten PT Visits,

Nine exercises,

Eight strength sets,

Seven great massages,

Six weeks of “rest”,

Five days of Crosstraining!

Four months of bills,

Three miles of running

Two days of swimming

And an all better shoulder injury!

 

On the eleventh day of Christmas, I’d LIKE for swimming…

Eleven Y passes,

Ten free massages,

Nine more swimsuits,

Eight plane tickets,

Seven sea swims,

Six yoga classes,

FIVE MINUTE DRIVE TO GLENS FALLS!!!!

Four cold water cronies,

Three more days each week,

200s in 2:30,

And a snow globe with a swimming scene!

 

On the twelfth day of Christmas, I got for swimming…

Twelve million words,

Eleven days in England,

Ten Painted Toes,

Nine day Distance Week,

Eight Fundraisers,

Seven Swimming Pools,

Six Days a Week,

FIVE MARATHON SWIMS!

Four escort boats,

Three years of dreams,

Two awesome, perfect crew,

AND…

*jazz hands everyone*

AN ENGLISH CHANNEL SOLO CROSSING!!!!!

  1. Hahahah it did surprise me! I love it, Bethany! And how did I miss your surprise wedding, I was going to set it up!! Hmmm maybe I’m just so good at my job as lead CWCWWD-LS [pron.: /’cook-woodless/] (Cold Water Crony of the Warm Water Division – Land Squad ), that I multitasked it in and didn’t even realize it… hmm, must have been when I was having my arm floaties fitted. Anyway, I’m so proud of you!
